DEFORM 11.0

DEFORM is a computer-aided engineering application for simulating metal forming and related manufacturing processes using finite element analysis. It enables engineers to virtually prototype operations such as forging, extrusion, rolling, drawing, upsetting, heat treatment, machining, and joining, helping predict how materials will flow and how tools will perform before any physical trials.

Key capabilities:

• 2D (axisymmetric) and full 3D thermo-mechanical simulations for single- and multi-stage processes
• Prediction of material flow, stress/strain, temperature, forces/torques, and die fill
• Detection of potential defects (e.g., laps, folds, underfill, cracking) and evaluation of die/tool stresses
• Support for temperature- and strain-rate–dependent material behavior, friction/contact, and tool elasticity
• Automatic meshing and remeshing, CAD geometry import, and result visualization/reporting
• Options for microstructure and heat-treatment modeling, depending on setup
